Eastern Kentucky University's Director of Applachian Studies, Dr. Alice Jones, has spent the past year researching sisters Lucy and Annette Braun, pioneers of conservation and they literally wrote the book on Appalachian forests (Deciduous Forests of Eastern North America). Dr. Jones wrote a one-woman play based on their lives called “Sisters of the Mother Forest.”
