Distinguished Kentucky activist, University of Kentucky alumni and educator, founder of the UK Martin Luther King Center, co-founder of the Lexington Roots & Heritage Festival, founder of the legendary UK Spotlight Jazz Series, co-chair of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday Celebration – Lexington, KY, and host of WLXU’s Thursday evening jazz show, Take The ‘J’ Train, Mr. Chester Grundy, stops by Bluegrass Bios to talk with Chuck Clenney and Jessica Faye Mohler about his amazing experiences changing the landscape of UK and Lexington via challenging world-class programming. We chat about his experiences bringing visionaries to town like Coretta Scott King, Muhammad Ali, Sun Ra, KRS-One, Sarah Vaughn, Dizzy Gillespie, and a multitude of renowned others.
